Valley View Shetlands & One Woman Wools is a sheep farm and fiber studio owned and operated by Janice Whitfield in beautiful Eastern Washington. Janice is dedicated to promoting the endearing little Shetland Sheep as the perfect all around sheep breed for the family.
Her current breeding and fiber flock consists of about 60 individuals, all registered with the North American Shetland Sheep Association and many are dual registered with The Fine Fleeced Shetland Sheep Association.
Janice offers some of the very best Shetland Sheep breeding stock in North America as well as a selection of raw fleeces, roving, yarns and products made from their wool. In addition to all the natural woolly products, she likes to create dyed rovings and batts on commercially prepared fiber under the name One Woman Wools.
"It's so exciting to be able to spend the days on our farm surrounded by my animals and having the life I've always dreamed of. Now that our kids are grown and have families of their own, the animals, the land and the seasons guide my day and my creative time."
"One Woman Wools" is what I call my fiber business at Valley View Farm. Along with our lovely Shetland raw fleeces I provide roving and yarn made at our local mill that resonates the many natural colors of our fine fleeced Shetlands. I also like to dye commercially prepared roving, in nature inspired color ways, and card batts with lots of color and texture for the creative side of spinning fibers into yarn. I hope you will enjoy browsing through my shop and perhaps you will find just what your heart desires for your next fibery adventure.
